A beautiful stile

Here is one of the most elegant things I've ever seen—a stone stile, over a low stone wall, from a churchyard to a lower-level meadow or field.

Today we were in West Wittering, to go to the beach.  On the way, we went to the Parish Church of St. Peter and St. Paul.  It was built in the 12th century, but the sign said "worship has been offered to God on this site for about 1,300 years."

Other things I'm seeing and doing in England are being collected here (sandraeurope2011.blogspot.com), and I'll add some more tomorrow.
