A special day

Today is one of my favorite days of the whole year, though I never know in advance when it will come.

I lit the fireplace this morning because the house was cold.

Congratulations and happy day.

My husband feels that way about the first spring day that the temperature reaches 70F (we live in the midwest).

He celebrates with a long bike ride.

We get excited about rain here, and some places are tired of rain and get excited about sun.

I like cool days; always have. And fire is fun to hear and smell and watch.

Your husband has a ways to go now, for his special day, but it will come!

What a coincidence, we bought a firepit for the yard because it is finally cool enough at night to have a fire outside!! (We are in the Phoenix area).

The only thing I miss about living in the midwest is fireplace mornings in our pjs, while waiting for our clothes to warm up in the dryer.

We lit ours yesterday! We have another fire today and three dancing princesses in front of it! Indeed happy days!

It's a shame you are a rude person.

Well, jeez. Here I come thinking someone will have posted something cooish and nice, and it's all rude, in the guise of being nice.

Oh well. Sandra, you are not a rude person. You are one of the most generous people I've met with your time and experience. I think it is possible to confuse your bluntness, your sense that it is urgent to change how you treat your children quickly as they won't be children for long, with rudeness. But that confusion lies only with the listener who feels that they should not be challenged to be the best parent they can possibly be.

I don't see how lighting a fire in my own fireplace should disturb anonymous people in any way. :-)

Thanks, Schuyler, for the kind words. Some people (many of them anonymous) like to hear cooing noises without substance. I just don't know how to make those, and have better things to do with my time anyway.

http://sandradodd.com/supportI figured out how to deliver the cooish "nice" words of others. Perhaps it was rude to collect them? Perhaps I'm doomed to rudeness. ;-)
