Holly was getting headaches and squinting, and so she asked us to take her to get her eyes checked. The byproduct of that was that Keith and I got our eyes checked too. She got a cute pair of artsy glasses. Keith and I have new, stronger old-people spectacles. But that's okay.

They look pretty cute on her!
I think mine are trifocals but I love Holly's glasses. Maybe time for me to get a new style..:-)
So cute Holly! And your hair too, you're beeautiful :)
Lovely Glasses and I LOVE the hair cut!
Thanks, all. I was glad to get the scoop on her. She hasn't had time to do her own photos and get them on MySpace yet, so I got to be the first! (Rare.)
She did that haircut herself, and dyed it brown last night except for that one shock of lighter stuff she saved out on the side there. She wanted a new haircut in preparation for the arrival of her glasses.
Those are very stylish and they look fab on her! The haircut is great too. I just got new glasses too, but with much less stunning results...
Beautiful and I love the hair do.
Very cute style. They look very nice on her. Yours look great too!
Love 'em! Holly looks great in glasses, especially with the new cut and color.
Holly looks wonderful, I love it :)
Very cute glasses!
You can't even read, what's the point of wearing glasses?
Can't decide whether to delete Igno-nonymous's post or leave it there as an interesting example of meanness and stupidity. Any suggestions?
Is it possible, anonymous, that you can't read? Holly's been reading for years. The first book she read was by Judy Blume and then she read "The Body" by Stephen King. That was years ago.
Is there some reason you thought it would be a good idea to anonymously insult my daughter on my blog?
I think I'd remove it if it were on my blog. No point in letting someone spill their nasty negativeness into your life. Or onto your blog. ; )
Dump the negative comment, Sandra.
Holly looks fabulous in those glasses... they really suit her.
I'm going to save the comment elsewhere, but was thinking about why someone would need glasses without being able to read.
Friends of ours had a baby born too early. He wasn't blind, but he did need glasses very young. I suppose he wore glasses for four years before he could read, but they were just thrilled that he could walk and see! He's fine now, but without those glasses he wouldn't have been able to read facial expressions or play with toys very well. He would have run into things and hurt himself.
Some people wear glasses to sew, and do woodcarving. Those aren't reading.
Maybe the thought that the written word is the only thing worth seeing ties in with book worship.

Holly is strong and whole. Yesterday's "anonymous" has some issues (in addition to cowardice).

Oh that's a classic out of kindergarten isn't it?
I can just imagine the whiney little voice.
I don't wear my glasses to read, I wear my glasses to drive and watch movies.
If you're going to stalk, check your facts.
XuMei and I love the glasses and your haircut! I want you to cut my hair now! XuMei wants to bleach her hair and dye it turquoise! We miss and love you Holly!
Holly, you are one of those people that looks gorgeous with glasses and without! I'd dump the loser's comment too.

Dear Holly,
I frequently visit your mom's blog and you are known worldwide...and anonymous is just that: anonymous.
Thank you for the inspiration.
Getting your first glasses can be life changing in some ways so I liked that you decided to change your hair color and style as well to go along with your wearing glasses. kinda like saying its a new you. Anyway by now you have probably had several different pairs of glasses, bu you never forget your first pair. I hope that you;re still enjoying wearing your glasses.
